On the front - various assorted magnets collected over the years and the odd out of date receipt. I don’t carry a lot in it most of the time. Just a few essentials - milk, spread, some aged apples, some jars of home made chutney and jam from a coffee morning that I never went to, a bottle of ghastly orange coloured squash that I won’t drink (won at a school fair - full of sweeteners which I loathe), the tail end of a bag of sultanas, some lemon barley water I might drink and a nice bit of strong cheese. That thing lurking in the bottom is some smelly cat food. Since these photos I’ve stocked up a little, some more apples and a few cartons of fruit juice. The freezer is a bit better stocked and has just had a real treat - it was defrosted recently for the first time (in approximately six years). The top shelf was the original ice cave. The door of the top shelf is missing, having turned brittle and snapped off its hinges ages ago. My fridge is located in an alcove just outside my kitchen door (the kitchen being micro-small). In the picture of the freezer, to the bottom left, you can see an odd electrical arrangement. The fridge is run on an extension lead which goes under the floorboards and is plugged into a socket in the bedroom. Being so close to the bedroom door it soothes me to sleep each night with its humming lullaby and shines out a comforting night light with its tiny green light. Oh the joys of living in a flat and having one’s domestic appliances close at hand!
