Melody and Dave’s Fridge
This is a Fridge from: Japan |

This Fridge is from Kamakura, Japan.
We have lived in Kamakura, Japan for over 3 years. This is a small refrigerator compared to the standard American ones we had growing up in the U.S. We have both American and Japanese foods in both the freezer and refrigerator. We also have a lot of condiments (2 big jars of pickles, 2 or 3 different mustards, 3 bottles of different Japanese sesame oil salad dressings). Also, Dave likes to store his beer in the veggie drawer when there is no other space.

You keep sesame oil in the fridge? Won’t it acquire a funny taste? I keep mine in the pantry (I live in Virginia.) And what are the two bottles with the green round lids (top shelf)? Is that lemonade in the pink carton? (I’m so nosy, I know.)

Wow, that would be a fairly large fridge for South American standards. Like Milusita asked, what’s the orange and pink carton? Some kind of fruit juice perhaps? How about some Calpis? (LOL) :)

Thanks for the comments! Chris, good eyes (GO NAVY BEAT ARMY–sorry, David, I had to say it!). Milusita & Carlos: The 2 bottles with the green tops are WONDERFUL sesame oil salad dressings (I keep the pure sesame oil at room temp). It’s basically the Japanese version of a vinagrette or Italian dressing: a great mix of sesame oil, soy sauce, sesame seeds & bits of different spices. It’s so tasty that I try to keep a bottle in my fridge at work. The orange & pink carton is nonfat milk (it’s ultra-pasteurized and shipped from the U.S.)

Also, I forgot to mention that the green “folder” hanging off the side is our garbage or “gomi” guide that’s nearly a dozen pages long.

The Sesame dressing sounds good, maybe someone should setup a website where we can all swop our different condiments and home recipes?
