Mr Shag Sheep’s Fridge
This is a Fridge from: New Zealand |

This Fridge is from Alexandra, New Zealand.
Well, I just got linked to your site. I’d had this fridge next to my bed for over 10 yrs. Usualy it was just full of alcohol which I have pictures of someware… It also went through a cheese and salami stage which I don’t have pictures of. However, I do have pictures of the chocolate stage! In the pictures you see my daughters reaction the first time she saw that particular phase of my fridges life :-) One good thing about growing up and getting a job is that you find you have the money to do whacky things that you would have wanted to do as a child. Unfortunately we tend to get caught up in adult problems and forget the dreams and idea’s we used to have in our younger years. So, every now and again I like to do something different to remind myself that there’s more to life… and also just because I can :-)

I much preferred the “alcohol days”, but it was always good to raid the “choc” stage when visiting Blanchy! How about a “meat” phase?

Oh my husband can not see this one….I would lose him for sure to the “chocolate refrig” in New Z. He is looking for any excuse to get there and this is the “pot o gold” at the end of the rainbow for him. Love the flashlight too!

But honestly, you don’t have to keep chocolate in ANY fridge, or is it really that hot over there?
Also, you do realize how much slavery is involved in harvesting Cocoa beans in West Africa and/or S.E. Asia to get you your bars?
I think these amounts of chocolate aren’t very funny at all, the fridge looks like that of a spoiled rotten overpaid overfed wealthy fat human being, too lazy to ever work as hard as those slaves do.

1) Where I live in NZ, the temperature can vary from -15deg c in winter to +40deg c in summer. So yes, in summer time putting our chocolate in a fridge can be a good idea.
2) No I didn’t realize how much slavery is involved in the production of Cocoa beans. I will look into that some more (had a quick look at your website).
3) I’m a solo father running my own electrical business. I work alone and support myself and my child. I find the time to do both. However at the time of that picture I was just working for a wage. Lazy? Well I only work the hours I need to to pay our way and no more. So I guess in some way’s I am. Everything I have, I have worked for and paid for myself. No silver spoon for me. If I decide to live a little from time to time by going without in some area’s to have excesses in others, then thats not a bad thing as far as I’m concerned. I’m sure you have plenty of little excesses in your life you could go without but don’t. The only difference between us is that I occasionally choose to put it all together at once.
5) My daughter and I are both slim and generally eat pretty well with fresh produce cooked at home. This week we will be planting in our vegetable garden so we can have fresh vegetables on the dinner table at meal time… free from pesticides and the other nasties.
So to finish off, don’t be too quick to judge. Sit back, have a drink and relax! :-)

What is in the upper part of the fridge…is it chocolate bars or CD’s? (As weird as it may seem, I live in the US and have dated guys that went off their rocker talking about chicks that only had things like chocolate bars or even just their angora sweaters or VHS tapes because each gal told them it made for a better temp on the product.

What’s with the nasty comments about Mr. Shag Sheep’s fridge contents, his life, his kid, his oppression of workers etc etc? This is a fun site — have fun and lighten up! Sheesh!
(I *am* a little frightened by his name, though. ;) )

What the–slavery??
Mr Shag seems like an awesome dad. His daughter looks healthy and happy.
I don’t think he should have had to explain himself to anyone. Especially a self-righteous person such as Ben.
I think Ben could use a spot of chocolate, actually. It might help him relax a little bit. ;-)

I so loved your comment,

Love it! Go well Shag Sheep :D

Truely inspirational. I love chocolate and would love to have a fridge like yours.
Actually when faced with a buffet I am always suddenly full and so long as things aren’t open they can stay in the fridge forever without me being tempted so I think a fridge like yours would actually stop me eating so much chocolate.
Really cool to do something so indulgent. Having a fridge obsession is certainly alot cheaper than alot of other habits you could have. The world would be a better place if a few more people induged on your level.
LOVE IT!

i think you’re amazing.

I LOVE your fridge, it’s a dream come true! I am not sure about the harsh comments. Most of the time farmers won’t pay workers an equal wage for their work which is what I think Ben was reffering to? Buying fair trade chocolate, all of the time, can get expensive. Anyway, I think your fridge is beautiful:)

awesome idea !

maybe you should invest in a bigger fridge! (and more chocolate) from a very jealous aunty.lol
